National Apprenticeship Week Approaches: ReVision Encourages Career Seekers to Join the Trades

ReVision Energy will be joining the Department of Labor in celebrating National Apprenticeship Week, a nationwide event that gives businesses, communities, and educators the opportunity to showcase their apprenticeship programs while providing valuable information to career seekers looking to join the trades. ReVision Energy will host the November 15th event at their Brentwood, NH, showroom.

This year’s Apprenticeship Week features an additional focus on attracting women and minorities into the trades. During the event, ReVision will feature testimonials of ReVision Energy co-owners, a facility tour, and opportunities for job seekers to learn the benefits of working in the solar industry.

Solar is one of the fastest growing industries in the United States, with job growth happening 8 times faster than the rest of the U.S. economy. The solar industry employs more people than the coal, oil, and gas industries combined. 55 apprentices are currently enrolled at ReVision Energy’s in-house technical center.

With public awareness about the climate crisis reaching critical mass, the biggest obstacle to achieving a fully solar economy is the scarcity of skilled workers to execute the massive project of converting our fossil-fuel powered infrastructure to renewable options. In 2018, ReVision Energy launched its own Technical Center to offer a path to state licensure for electricians, a program which has been wildly popular and at full enrollment since its launch.
