The scheme grants incentives for the installation of solar water heaters, PV systems up to 10 kW, heat pumps and small windmills.
The Slovak Innovation and Energy Agency (SIEA) has awarded €700,000 in incentives for residential PV systems in less than 36 minutes on March 10, when it launched the latest round of Phase II of the Green Houses Program.
The agency received 492 applications in the round and, as in previous rounds for the PV technology, almost all applicants were granted the requested incentives.
Overall, the SIEA has awarded the rebates to over 1,700 small-sized PV projects through the scheme’s rounds for a total of €2.4 million. Including other renewable energy technologies, the scheme has so far allocated €17.5 million to more than 8,600 projects.
Launched in late 2015, the Green Houses Program grants incentives for the installation of solar water heaters, PV systems up to 10 kW, heat pumps and small windmills. The first phase of the scheme was concluded at the end of 2018.
Under the scheme’s second phase, the Slovak government is targeting to install at least 140 MW of renewable energy capacity.
Slovakia’s Ministry of Economy also launched in late February the country’s first technology-neutral, large scale renewable energy auction. The auction is part of new clean energy and co-generation support scheme introduced by an amendment to the Act in Support of Renewable Energy Sources and High Efficiency Combined Heat and Power (Act No. 309/2009 Coll).
